I had to replace the original F14s in the image with the EF2000 Typhoon (Eurofighter). The Plane was modeled and textured and a lighting rig was extrapolated from the original image. The 3 planes were then rendered and integrated into the original Photoshop file. Due to the resolution of the final image the front section of the plane had to be modeled panel by panel and the texture files were created at 4k to 6k each. As usual the render was broken into layers and assembled in the final composite.

Personal reworking of a model I did recently for a game cover art. This is the first personal project I have done in a long time and it was alot of fun. I realise there are a few problems with the model but this was just the nature of the original project and as this was strictly for fun, so what the hey. Big inspiration for this has been scale model box art and traditional aviation illustration and the image is more an homage to this style as opposed to striving for photorealism.
On the technical side the image is 4961x2790 and was rendered in mental ray. I tried to do it all in one shot so I didn't do my usual AO pass and such. Render time was about 1 hour or so. The backdrop is a montage of 7 photos taken from my front and back windows (yes, lazy). There is some post glow effects and some colour adjustment done in PS but not much.
Decals on this posting are removed in PS but you can see full version in the High Res link. (sorry, copyright issues).

Hi all,
Just wanted to share one of my latest projects with you all. This series of illustrations was commissioned by Peugeot Design Department for the launch of their new concept car, the 907, at the Paris Motor Show 2004.
I have written a short article about the making of these including sketches, wire view, test renderings and a movie of the final image preparation in photoshop. It can be found on my site under the articles section, www.bmcaff.com.
The design and the main model was obviously supplied by Peugeot but I spent a few days doing microfilleting and modeling off-the-shelf parts & environment.
Production time was 10 days.
Here are the other images:
